In June, my wife and I rode a 3 day, 2 night loop to the Outer Banks starting and ending in Greensboro, NC.
On the 1st day, we rode east bound on highway 158 into Elizabeth City. This entire road is worth it. On the second day, we rode down to Hatteras and then came back to stay for the night on the island. The 3rd day, we followed the 264 through Engelhard, Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. At 9am on a Saturday morning, we had the entire road to ourselves. We rode into Washington NC before stopping for a late breakfast. Be sure to have a full tank for this ride. There’s not too many places to get gas along this leg of the ride.
