My wife and I had just started our summer Travels, first season with our new RV life. Having started our journey in Texas, where we purchased our RV, we were lucky enough to have met with the hospitality of a local Goldwing rider, Dave.
Everyone we met in Texas were super friendly. We were referred to a local coffee bar where avid bikers hangout in Denton Texas, at the West Oak Coffee Bar. Looking for a good cup of coffee and a opportunity to meet other riders like ourselves, we decided to head out there and see what was happening.
The coffee at the West Oak Coffee Bar was fabulous. There were plenty of motorcyclists from all flavors of riders.
Dave came along and introduced himself. He was out on a solo ride on his Kawasaki KLR, his second bike. His first was a 2010 Goldwing, same as ours, in the awesome charcoal black color however.
Dave offered to share a ride of his with us. The next weekend, Berni and I found ourselves riding for the first time with another Goldwing rider. It was already super fun. Dave really went out of his way to show us how cool Texas riding is. We really enjoyed riding the back roads of northern Texas.
We took the 380 East back into Denton to complete the ride, the temperatures rising into the mid-90s.
Dave is a super gadget guy. He has mastered riding while running multiple navigating devices and multiple go-pro cameras. He had an extra to share and offered it to Berni to capture some video. She and Dave caught some great images of the ride. See below for some short clips.
We stopped in for lunch at Sweetie Pie’s Ribeyes, excellent place to stop.
Thank you Dave for such a great ride! Hopefully we’ll be seeing you and your wife soon.
